On to something else... a while back I got a chance to go inside a preserved sharecropper's cabin at a farm. While I had my Hasselblad with me, I decided to use my Holga and do some long exposures with it inside the cabin.

Camera: Holga 120N using Arista.EDU Ultra 400 B&W film, scanned darkroom print

News: The Photoblog Awards are underway.

The group show that I'm in, 'Plastic Makes Perfect', runs through 14 October. This toy camera show is part of Atlanta Celebrates Photography. I have 6 pieces in the show. If you are in Atlanta, I hope you can make it by. Here is a copy of a flyer for the show. The photo in the flyer is one of my photos in the show.

My solo show, 'Things Left Behind: an urban exploration', is now running. I have 13 photos on exhibit. For more details, read here.

Song of the day: "Party and Bullshit" by The Notorious B.I.G.

Poem of the day:
"We can look into the stove tonight
as into a mirror, yes,

the serrated log, the yellow-blue gaseous core

the crimson-flittered grey ash, yes.
I know inside my eyelids
and underneath my skin

Time takes hold of us like a draft
upward, drawing at the heats
in the belly, in the brain

You told me of setting your hand
into the print of a long-dead Indian
and for a moment, I knew that hand,

that print, that rock,
the sun producing powerful dreams
A word can do this

or, as tonight, the mirror of the fire
of my mind, burning as if it could go on
burning itself, burning down

feeding on everything
till there is nothing in life
that has not fed that fire "
