Brushed by the light

Here is another shot from inside the cabin. This pretty much turned out like I hoped. I wanted to capture the light just falling onto an old chest of drawers near a window. I must say that I am not too impressed with the long exposure capabilities of the Arista film (just re-labelled Fomapan film). It really starts to get too much grain (not in a good way) in longer exposures. I like the film, but I am not using it as much these days...especially not after getting some of the Rollei Retro film, which right now is my favorite B&W film, especially when developed in Rodinal 1:50 -- good combo.

News: The Photoblog Awards are underway.

The group show that I'm in, 'Plastic Makes Perfect', runs through 14 October. This toy camera show is part of Atlanta Celebrates Photography. I have 6 pieces in the show. If you are in Atlanta, I hope you can make it by. Here is a copy of a flyer for the show. The photo in the flyer is one of my photos in the show.

My solo show, 'Things Left Behind: an urban exploration', is now running. I have 13 photos on exhibit. For more details, read here.

Song of the day: 'Barricade' by Stars

Poem of the day:
'If you were coming in the Fall,
I'd brush the Summer by
With half a smile, and half a spurn,
As Housewives do, a Fly.

If I could see you in a year,
I'd wind the months in balls --
And put them each in separate Drawers,
For fear the numbers fuse --

If only Centuries, delayed,
I'd count them on my Hand,
Subtracting, till my fingers dropped
Into Van Dieman's Land.

If certain, when this life was out --
That yours and mine, should be
I'd toss it yonder, like a Rind,
And take Eternity --

But, now, uncertain of the length
Of this, that is between,
It goads me, like the Goblin Bee --
That will not state -- its sting.'
- Emily Dickinson, 'If you were coming in the Fall,'
